Solemn VespersSolemn Vespers is prayed at Holy Family Cathedral at 6:30 PM on the last Sunday of each month. The next vespers will be Sunday Jun 30, 2013. Vespers is part of the official daily prayer of the Church and recalls Sunday morning's Eucharistic sacrifice. With psalms, readings, and prayers taken from Scriptures, solemn Vespers are sung in the context of Eucharistic Adoration by the diocesan schola Vox Nova. Benediction closes the service. Parish News and InformationFr. Gary Sherman, RIPI have received word the Fr. Gary Sherman, the pastor of St. Athanasius, the Byzantine Catholic mission that worships in the basement chapel at St. Augustine, died on Friday, November 2. Please pray for the repose of Fr. Sherman's soul and for his family. [Obituary] Requiem æternam dona ei, Domine, et lux perpetua luceat ei. Anima ejus et animae omnium fidelium defunctorum per Dei misericordiam requiescant in pace. Amen. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and may perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen Laudamus TeLaudamus Te is a new magazine devoted to the sacred liturgy according to the 1962 liturgical calendar. It provides daily readings, explanatory essays, commentaries by the saints and Church fathers, and devotional writings by priests and religious. Laudamus Te will be published six times per year.
